Jazz Basket

The Basket Series, including Fusion Basket, is the syncopation of my work, a mixing of energies and unpredictability of rhythms. The metaphor that emerged during the conceptual process was that of ocean currents. Off the east end of Catalina Island, there is a area where the channel currents meet the currents of the open sea. Here there is a new mix composed of converging swells, currents, colors and wind chop that is full of motion, high energy and unpredictability...much like good jazz.
